CASE
STUDY - Design, Development and Implementation of an MIS
Solution
Profile
– Who they are
Market Leading Training college for Driving Instructors
Growth at 30% per annum.
Challenges – what they
wanted
To develop and implement a new IT Strategy
Implement an integrated IT system
Ensure more robustness (in terms of disaster recovery
etc) in their systems
Realise the full potential benefits a new IT system
would bring in relation to their business case objectives
and deliverables
Increase the effectiveness of their business working
practices. Some processes (such as the hand-over of newly
qualified drivers from the colleges to the magazine) are
hit-and-miss, and some processes are missing. The "core"
business model is out of scope of this project.
Further enhance their product portfolio, e.g. Look
at offering an on-line cash book for the accounting business
Increase operational efficiency by allowing continued
expansion within existing admin costs
Support for new businesses - the core market is saturated
and an investment in IT may provide them with new business
opportunities
Improve resource utilisation, i.e. flexibility of labour.
